This site is a Data Exchange for international mining and resource analysts. By pooling our knowledge we all end up being better informed about mining operations around the world. If you have recently visited a mine and/or otherwise have information on an operation you feel you can share with us, become a contributor. Contributions earn free download credits from this site.
Credits are awarded according to the significance of the information. If your information results in a 10% or more difference in modelled on-site mining and milling cash costs per ton of ore milled for at least two historic years, you are credited with the mine's currently stated download price. We award lesser credit amounts for significant information that we think is worth incorporating in the model. All credits earned can be used to download any mine on the site. If you have downloaded a mine model that you can demonstrate has material errors or is just plain wrong, then you can earn a credit for the cost of that download. "Material error" or "wrong" means that your amendments to the model produce more than a 10% difference in on-site mining and milling cash costs per ton of ore milled for at least two historic years. Naturally you will be entitled to download an amended version of the model for free. We reserve the right to decline contributions or to award a credit. While it is really up to us to decide what the credit amount will be, you will find we are pretty reasonable. After all, we have a powerful incentive to encourage contributions to make sure that each mine model as accurate as possible. It is only through membership participation that we can maximize the quality of the information on this site.
To contribute information on a mine already on the site, fill out a mine data sheet and email it to us. We will email you back to confirm our acceptance and advise you of the credit amount which will be deducted from the cost af any subsequent model downloads. If you feel you can contribute good information on a mine not already on the site, email us with your proposal. For a mine to be of interest to the mining analyst community, it should be a significant operation in or near production owned by a stock-exchange listed company. We would normally expect the mine to be ranked within the top 90% of world producers of the metal concerned. Information quality should be at the level of feasibility or pre-feasibility study and should be substantiated by, for example, citing verifiable references. Contributions accepted for mines not already on the site are credited with DOUBLE the posted price for the mine when it goes onto the download list. This means that if you can provide us with sufficient data to construct a new model, we will let you download for free the model we construct, plus one other model already posted onto the website. Remember that we always have new mines in the works. Just because a mine is not posted doesn't mean that we will accept your proposal. But try us anyway.
While we need to to know the identity of the contributor - which is why contributors must be registered users - the identity of the contributor is not disclosed in downloadable models without the prior permission of the contributor. Your contributions automatically remain anonymous unless you specifically give your permission. |
